Let’s collaborate
Since I started my MFA at The New School (@parsonsindustrialdesign) I’ve been surrounded and supported by faculty, family, friends, and especially Melissa (@melissalesandra) all of whom have had a huge impact on my journey of discovering my own voice in design. This poster design created for my manifesto is a reflection of where I come from and where I’m heading.
The fragmented and abstract composition comes from my love for photography and its ability to capture raw emotions and tell stories. The broken visuals and halftone textures represent the layers of memory and transformation that have shaped my personal and creative journey. These fragmented pieces, much like the experiences I’ve lived come together to form something new and meaningful. For me photography is all about light, shadow, and perspective and this poster uses those elements to explore clarity, ambiguity, and the in-between spaces that define much of my life and design process.
Being a Latino coming from Ciudad Juarez studying in New York has been both inspiring and challenging especially when it comes to creativity. Adapting to a new culture while holding on to my roots has shaped how I approach design and pushed me to find new ways of expressing myself.
